I never thought I would be the type of person to have a security system installed in my home. I have always thought those people thought too highly of themselves and their stuff. Then I became a parent. I realized that the safety of my children and family really all came down to me. I don't know if you can understand that responsibility if you are not a parent. It is heavy. But it actually isn't burdensome. It is a heavy that you welcome, that you feel privileged to have. I would do anything for my children. And if that means I need to change my perspective on something, then that is what I will do. We did get a system and we decided to go with security systems Washoe Valley. It is just exactly what we needed for right now. I know other moms can understand what I am talking about. I feel safer knowing that I am doing everything to protect my children. I won't be able to protect them forever, but that is my job right now, and I will do my best!

Spiders Freak Me Out
I was sitting on the couch catching up on episodes of The Voice when all of a sudden I spot a spider crawling across the ceiling. I jumped off the couch, moved the blanket and pillow that I had on my lap and stood staring at the creepy crawly. I am terrified of spiders!!
I don't like the way they look or the way they just seem to appear out of nowhere. I really don't know where my fear came from but whenever I see one I tense up, my heart rate sky rockets, I start to sweat and I can't move. Basically I turn into a giant baby.
Most of the time my kids or husband have to eliminate the problem. If they are not home, I will get a broom or some other long object to take care of it. Even though I get something that puts a distance between me and the nasty little pest, I still get freaked out.
Do you have any fears? What are they and how to do handle them?

Flu Season
Luckily I haven't had the flu but I have been battling a virus that I've had for the past week and a half. It started off as a sore throat and then turned into a really bad cough and now my sinuses are draining and it's really annoying. Also, I've been really tired from my body fighting this bug off.
What illnesses or colds have been roaming around your home? Has anyone in your house had the flu yet and if so, what do you do to nip it in the butt?

Keeping our family's coat closet organized
Guest post written by Martha Stringer
Keeping just about anything organized can be a real chore when you have three young kids. I didn't expect to keep a pristine home when I started having children, but then again I didn't realize that cleaning my house would be nearly this involved! So a lot of the times I'll just throw things in our coat closet to get it out of the way, well as soon as cool weather hit I knew I had to clean out the closet and do something with all of that stuff.
I decided to do a big organizational overhaul of the closet and while I was looking online to find some tips about doing that, I saw the site homeproimprovement.com and after looking at it some I decided to use them to remodel our kitchen. That's my husband's gift to me this year for Christmas, so I thought it would just be easy to get them to do it instead of getting a bunch of quotes by local contractors.
I did find some pretty good organizational tips that I put to good use. Now the trick will be just making sure that the closet stays organized.

Grandparents move to FL
Posted by Heriberto Fuentes
My grandparents are the most amazing people. After some family tension between me and my parents, my grandparents were more like parents to me than grandparents. I have always looked to them for advice and always tried to help them when I could. Last week they moved to Florida. When they first told me the news, I was upset. For twenty years, my grandparents had been no more than a ten minute drive away. Now they were going to be in a completely different state. I didn’t know what to think. After the anger passed, I decided the adult thing to do would be to help with the move. After packing all the boxes, I offered to drive to Naples and help with the unpacking. They were glad I was helping and no longer angry. Once there, I continued to help them settle into their new home. I saved them money with ExpertSatellite tv Naples deals. I hooked up their computer so we could video chat and I even looked up all the local activities. After everything was finished, I told them to be expecting many video chatsand week long vacations at their house. At least there are some positives to come out of the move, but I will still miss them a lot!
